Thursday, January 12 & 26, 7-8:30pm

With Fr. Bill Edens, CSP and special guests Rev. Howard Earle and Lisa Butler

·         Thursday, January 26- What are the stories of African Americans who live in the Grand Rapids area? How do they express their faith?  How do we find a door into this thriving culture?  Our guest speaker, Lisa Butler, director for the Center of Health and Wellness, for the Urban League in Grand Rapids, will share a cultural perspective on the African American community of Grand Rapids, and on the spiritual values that underlie a healthy community.

History of Culture and Spirituality in the United States

This series will be live streamed at catholicinformationcenter.org

In this series, Fr. Bill Edens will explore unique American cultures and discuss how each group developed its special “flavor” of American Spirituality.  Guest speakers will share their cultural perspectives and will offer an opportunity to converse in a safe environment about the challenges of culture crossing, especially where there may be a history of prejudice.   We will also discuss opportunities for immersion into these cultures, which may be found in our very own homes and neighborhoods.   CFD: Evangelization ($10.00 donation suggested)
