The Grand Rapids Downtown Market will host its second annual Food A’Faire fundraiser to benefit the Education Foundation on Thursday, October 15, from 7-10 p.m.  The theme for this year’s evening of local food, drinks and entertainment is “Slip into the Shadows,” inviting guests inside to explore the transformation of the second floor into “The Garden of Good and Evil,” “Miss Behave’s Amber Room” and the “Wake Snakes Ballroom.”

The evening will feature hand-crafted libations, themed cuisine, a silent auction featuring Michigan experiences and musical entertainment, from formal to wild and whimsical.

The Downtown Market Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to offer culinary and nutritional education, entrepreneur opportunities and a place for local food production. With the goal of creating a healthier community lifestyle, some of the programs offered include culinary and nutrition classes for all ages; training in entrepreneurship; food production and gardening; obesity prevention and other wellness issues. The organization supports access to, and promotion of, fresh healthy foods for all, including disadvantaged families and children.

Sponsorships for the event are still available at http://www.foodafairegr.com/sponsors/.
