Past performances have sold out, and each summer concert showcases incredible musicianship, ranging from beautiful and technical acoustic performances to huge whole-band numbers backed by a 75-member Cottage Chorus. Past performances have included covers of Michael Jackson, Styx, The Beatles, Kelly Clarkson, Fun, Billy Joel, Journey, and more.
The Piano Cottage is a private music studio in SE Grand Rapids that provides inspired lessons, challenging musical opportunities and contagious team spirit to over 350 young musicians, offering weekly lessons on 12 instruments, including piano, voice, guitar, bass, drums and more. Its students are earning kudos with their performances at big music festivals and intimate venues alike, and their up-tempo, musically impressive show will appeal to parents, children, and music lovers of all ages.
After sharing the stage with Piano Cottage students in 2015, Jen Wilson of Grand Rapids band Afro Zuma said, “When I heard the kids from The Piano Cottage the first few times, I was blown away by the pure talent . . . Some of them are more talented than I’ll ever be. It makes me think to myself ‘What was I doing when I was nine years old?’ Clearly not enough.”
