The Pickle Fort, an East Hills hub of multimedia avant garde spectacle is presenting another evening of unbridled artistic exploration into the world of poetry. The evening will host visiting guest Gerry Fialka, historian and literary critic, from Venice Beach.

On Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. Sean Kenny, Pickle proprietor, presents "Portrait of the Poet as Experimental Film Maker." The evening will include live poetry, local music and film reels with reflections on the interconnectedness of the three. Rare film clips of Diane DiPrima, Amiri Baraka, Bukowski, Beckett, Burroughs and Gary Snyder will be projected and accompanied by live readings.

"These art forms expand our notions of reality both inner and outer. How is the interior dialog -consciousness- the essence of the human condition? How does it inform content versus form issues?" asks Kenny.

The Pickle Fort is an art emporium, residence turned venue that explores the periphery of normal and promotes arts and culture in a neighborly oriented fashion.

The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
