At the American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids, we love being outside and enjoying mild, breezy Michigan summer evenings almost as much as we love serving our community. So we thought what better way to combine two of our favorite things than by holding an Open House and Community Night outdoors at our Grand Rapids chapter on August 14 from 5:30-8:00 p.m.! The Grand Rapids chapter is located at 1050 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

All are invited to come by our office and enjoy some Red Cross fun while also learning about a few of the services we offer to the community. The Open House and Community Night is free and for families and friends of all ages. Whether you’re here for 20 minutes or 2 hours, we hope you can enjoy some fun with your family while also being inspired to become a part of the life-changing mission of the American Red Cross.

Here’s a quick list of some of the things you can look forward to at our event:

·         Red Cross games & prizes

·         A “smokehouse” to practice fire safety

·         Free Citizen’s CPR demonstrations

·         A visit from local emergency responders

·         Merlin, our Red Cross K9 volunteer

·         Red Cross vehicle tours

·         Presentations on Red Cross services

·         And more!

The work of the American Red Cross would not be possible without the generosity of our volunteers and donors. This Thursday evening, stop by and see how the Red Cross has been helping our neighbors in the Grand Rapids community for nearly 100 years. If nothing else, you’ll have one more excuse to enjoy some fun and games on a beautiful summer evening!
