HERE'S THE STORY:

Hlep kdis raed--Help kids read.

"One of the greatest indicators of a child’s future success is the reading level of the parent.  [The] Family Literacy Program strives to improve the literacy and language skills of Grand Rapids Public School parents in order to better assist them in raising strong and successful readers." --literacycenterwm.org

The small group of community volunteers are so passionate about this mission, that they have decided to run 5k, 10k, even 25k to show support!  Members believe that donations will go a long way in the life journeys and school performance of hundreds of children and the parents who stand behind them.

Besides the $340 displayed on the fundraising site, volunteer Ben Oliver's beard is currently worth a further $250 from offline pledges.
