In this week’s segment of GRTV’s NPO Showcase, Station Manager for WYCE 88.1 FM, Quinn Mathews, discusses how WYCE serves West Michigan’s music community and how you can support the station during their Fall Fund Drive October 14-21.

WYCE 88.1 FM is a commercial-free community radio station that plays an eclectic mix of music, all programmed by volunteers and supported by the community. Along with live performances in studio, the station is home to programs such as Catalyst Radio, a public affairs talk show, as well as Local Spins on WYCE, which spotlights West Michigan bands. WYCE also produces community music events, such as GR Live every Thursday at the B.O.B. and the Jammies Awards held each February.

WYCE is a service of Grand Rapids Community Media Center, a nonprofit, and is not funded through corporations, a university, or a religious organization. Instead, the station is funded by donations from individuals in the community and powered by volunteers who give their time. Starting this Friday, you can be a part building community through media by donating to the WYCE Fall Fund Drive.

Watch the NPO Showcase segment above to meet Mathews and learn about how WYCE serves our community. Consider supporting during the Fall Fund Drive, running October 14-21. You can donate online or by calling the studio at 616-742-9923.

Check back next Wednesday for a new segment of GRTV’s NPO Showcase, featuring Emmanuel Hospice.

NPO Showcase is just one of the many ways that the Community Media Center serves the nonprofit community. For information about this and other CMC services for nonprofits, or to schedule a future interview, contact Nonprofit Outreach Coordinator, Julie Way, at 616-459-4788 x115 or email [email protected].
