Asia Monet Ray and Jordyn Jones held a master class and exclusive meet and greet on November 17, 2013 at Expressions Dance in Wyoming. The event was held to raise money for The Brand UR and antibully charity both girls support. A portion of ticket sales went to The Brand UR scholarship fund. Jordyn says she had been bullied while in school.
Thunderstorms and Tornadoes hit Grand Rapids just as the event started. But that didn't stop the 40 dancers who had prepaid for the master class. Nor the 50 plus fans who attended the meet and greet. Friends of Jordyn traveled from Portage, Michigan to see her and to dance. Fans traveled from as far as Detroit.
It was the opportunity of a lifetime to meet two popular dancers. Both are successful in their own right. At just 7 years old, Asia Monet Ray competed on Abby's Ultimate Dance competition. Ultimately, she placed 3 runner up. Asia has been on the cover of Dance Spirit Magazine. And also appeared on the Maury Povich show. Asia is the only from Abby's Ultimate Dance Challenge to appear as a regular on Dance Moms, To give you an idea of how popular she is; Asia Monet Ray twitter account gained 30,000 followers in one week. Currently, Asia Monet Ray has 70,000 likes on facebook page. At the meet and greet, Asia told a story to the audience of her little sister, Bella Blu's 2nd birthday. Asia took the cake off the table and her little sister slapped her. That's funny.
Jordyn, originally from Three Rivers, Michigan has found boundless success in Los Angeles. She also competed on Abby's Ultimate Dance Challenge and came in 5th place. Jordyn is a 5-time national baton twirling champion. In addition, she has been a part of the Macy's Fashion show as a dancer. And Sketchers Fashion show in LA. For a while, she was a member of the 5lps(5 little princess) a singing and dancing group. They put out two popular songs, "Princess Crown" and "Sugar and Spice". And held concerts in California and Baltimore, Maryland.
Jordyn has appeared on Disney's "Shake It Up". And recently won a modeling contract with California Kissess. She also models for www.allaboutdance.com. A dance wear outlet. Jordyn Jones is the first dancer from Michigan to hold the coveted title of "Elite" Pulse Protege. A dance convention run by Brian Friedman, Britney Spears choreographer. As an elite protege, her travel and room/board expenses were covered. She has traveled all across the United States. Abroad, she has traveled to Toronto, Ontario, Cananda, London, England and Paris. Jordyn was a fierce competitor on the Grand Rapids dance competition circuit. When her mom Kelly was asked if Jordyn is still competiting, she replied "No" don't have time.
