Nineteen days ago some people started something. They marched onto Wall Street. Inspired by the movements created by the Arab Spring, they're not leaving. Not leaving until something changes. A new force united because we are the 99% and we want a voice in our country. Embracing values such as cooperation, peace, and that in any true movement, everyone is a leader. You do not need permission to participate in our democracy. It's your right, privilege, and duty.

Take a look at our latest monthly issue. You can read it online or maybe find a copy around Grand Rapids. We hope you'll find it inspirational.

We are going to put together a special issue just for the Occupation. This will be an introduction to the movement. This will be a great resource for questions such as "what's this all about?" or "what can I do to help?" If you have information or ideas you'd like included, please email it to us.

The Rapidian, a program of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Community Media Center, relies on the community’s support to help cover the cost of training reporters and publishing content.

We need your help.

If each of our readers and content creators who values this community platform help support its creation and maintenance, The Rapidian can continue to educate and facilitate a conversation around issues for years to come.

Please support The Rapidian and make a contribution today.
