Pitch:

Calvin is hosting a national conference for Christians in the visual arts beginning Thursday, June 11. The conference, "Between Two Worlds," will center on two questions: Does the church need art? Does the art world need the church? Leaders and practitioners who are working to overcome the divide between the art world and the church will explore the role of art and the church with artists and curators, educators and church leaders and everyone in between.

Five Calvin faculty members will be exhibiting new work as well as part of the conference. A reception open to the public is being hosted from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Center Art Gallery at Calvin College (with remarks by Kevin Buist).
