The fifth season of the Grand Rapids Art Museum's FREE summer outdoor concert series, GRAM on the Green, begins July 12! Guests can enjoy live music performances on the Museum's terrace, fun games (including giant Jenga and chess), sketching, a cash bar, dancing in Rosa Parks Circle, and more. It's the perfect way to unwind during summer Friday nights downtown!

GRAM ANNOUNCES FIFTH SEASON OF GRAM ON THE GREEN, JULY 12 – AUGUST 23, 2013 WITH FREE LIVE OUTDOOR MUSIC, DANCING, SKETCHING, AND GAMES
 
Music lineup includes The Crane Wives, An Dro, Neil Jacobs, and more! Event in Partnership with Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation and the Downtown Alliance
 
GRAM on the Green returns this summer! The Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM), Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation, and the Downtown Alliance collaborate once again for this series of Friday nights filled with outdoor live music and activities in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. This free outdoor summer music series includes eclectic live music—including The Crane Wives, An Dro, and Neil Jacobs—a cash bar on GRAM's Allen and Helen Hunting Terrace, games and sketching on Wege Plaza, as well as dancing and fitness activities in Rosa Parks Circle, provided by Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation and the Downtown Alliance. 
 
Throughout the evening, guests can also explore the galleries to see the exhibitions on view throughout the summer months: The Improvisational Quilts of Susana Allen Hunter and The Jansma Print Collection at the Grand Rapids Art Museum: Five Centuries of Masterpieces. GRAM's galleries are open until 9:00pm on Friday nights.
 
All outdoor activities are free of charge. The Art Museum is open until 9pm Friday evenings. General admission is only $5.00 after 5:00pm (regularly $8.00). Free for GRAM Members and children ages 5 and under.

(*Ballroom dancing and Werq dance fitness run through August 16, 2013. GRAM on the Green music will move into the Museum Lobby for August 23, due to the Polish Festival in Rosa Parks Circle; GRAM admission will be free after 5pm on that date.)
 
5:00 – 9:00pm
Outdoor sketching and games on GRAM's plaza.
Easels and sketching materials available on the Peter M. Wege Plaza, located in front of the Museum's main entrance. Guests can play giant Jenga and giant chess, as well as other normal-sized board games.
 
5:30 – 6:15pm
Werq dance fitness class in Rosa Parks Circle (by Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation + the Downtown Alliance)
 
6:15 – 8:30pm
Free live music on GRAM's Terrace. Short break between sets at 7:00pm.
 
8:30 – 10pm
Ballroom dancing in Rosa Parks Circle (by Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation + the Downtown Alliance)
