Pitch:

You will hear all about GGRBC's accomplishments over the past year and what lies ahead. You will meet the GGRBC board members and committee chairs. And you can find out how to get involved advocating for all cyclists in Greater Grand Rapids.

Lee Hardy, a professor at Calvin College, will be our guest speaker. This past summer Hardy researched and documented the urban cycling culture and infrastructure in Amsterdam and Copenhagen. Both cities have been models for cycling-savvy American planners who want to create a mode shift from cars to bicycles.

Hardy, funding by a grant, rode his bike for one week in each city. He recorded how street infrastructure impacted rider safety. He gathered rider data and he spoke with officials and bicycle advocates.

It will be inspiring, thought-provoking presentation you won't want to miss. It will also help us better visualize what we aspire to achieve in Grand Rapids to make cycling safer and more convenient for everyone.

Date: Wednesday, October 24
Time: 5:30pm-8:00pm - program starts at 6:00pm
Location: Haworth/Interphase Community Space, 40 Monroe Center NW (at Division)
Refreshments: Soup bar and dessert
