Healthy U Lecture: Eye Changes as We Age

As we grow older, our vision changes. We find ourselves reaching for the reader glasses or experiencing a decline in our peripheral vision. Dr. Philip VanderLugt, OD, will discuss how our eyes change as we age and the importance of eye care when he presents “Eye Changes as We Age,” during Covenant Village of the Great Lakes’ “Healthy U” lecture on Monday, March 21, 2016, beginning at 10 a.m. Covenant Village of the Great Lakes is a continuing care retirement community located at 2510 Lake Michigan Dr. N.W., Grand Rapids.

Dr. VanderLugt will explore age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma and the effects of diabetes on the eye. He’ll highlight the symptoms and offer prevention strategies.

He is the past president of the West Michigan Optometric Association and an associate clinical professor at Michigan College of Optometry.
