One of the most influential jazz drummers of the 20th Century, Chicago native Jack DeJohnette’s career spans five decades and caught on fire when he joined Miles Davis’ band in the late 1960’s. Throughout his career, DeJohnette has worked with jazz greats such as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, Stan Getz, Keith Jarrett, Chet Baker, George Benson, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Joe Henderson, and Betty Carter to name a few. Known for his unique drumming style, DeJohnette is a NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship and a Grammy award winner.
