At 5 p.m. Monday night, Mayor Heartwell's live interactive public access show City Connection was simulcast right here on The Rapidian. City Connection is an opportunity for Grand Rapidians to talk with our mayor about important city issues.

In the opening conversation, Mayor Heartwell referenced GQ Magazine when talking about the now-annual event ArtPrize.

"From here on out, I'll never pick up a copy of GQ, because they kind of trashed the city in their article," says Heartwell.

"Any of us... who know what its purpose is, that is to start a conversation about art, knows that it really, really works," says Heartwell of ArtPrize.

Heartwell also answered questions about urban gardening, the evidence of Oak Wilt in NW neighborhoods, public safety and even the Olympics in the hour-long live conversation [to be posted in its entirety within the next few days].

City Connection serves residents who have any questions or anything they would like to say to Mayor Heartwell.

Grand Rapidians are encouraged to ask questions on the article, emailing [email protected], tweeting @GRTVaccess, or leaving a Facebook comment. Tune in at 5 p.m. each month to hear him respond to you live on GRTV’s Livewire (channel 24 on Comcast) and streaming on The Rapidian.
