The Grand Rapids Children’s Museum invites you to the annual New Year’s Early Eve party, Saturday, December 31, 2017, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., with our famous countdown and balloon drop presented by Celebration! Cinema at 7:30p.m.!

A guest favorite, New Year’s Early Eve is the perfect way to celebrate with the whole family. Make a noisemaker, create a resolution wand, and enjoy a fun night of play and festivities, including kid-friendly hors d’oeurves provided by FOODesign, refreshments at the Fizzy Juice Bar, and music along with all the museum exhibits.

“There are not many family options for New Year’s Eve celebrations,” says Adrienne Brown-Reasner, Director of Communication and Events. “Kids know that it’s a special night and want to be a part of the festivities. Here we can give them a chance to be a part of it all and still make it home in time for bedtime!”

The New Year’s Early Eve event has been a popular night at the museum since the first one was held the year the museum first opened. While many of the activities of the party have changed over the years, what the evening has become known for is the countdown and balloon drop. “At 7:30, everyone gathers in the rotunda, we countdown, and drop nearly 1000 balloons over the crowd while singing Auld Lang Syne. For many of the families, this has become part of their holiday tradition and they look forward to it all year.”

Tickets are $12 per person ages one year and up, $10 for GRCM Pals Members, and are available online at www.grcm.org, by calling 616-235-4726 or visiting the museum front desk. This event does sell out every year, so make your reservations early!

In addition to the New Year’s Early Eve event, the museum has a number of special performances and events planned to fill up the winter break.
