We’re excited about The Rapid’s sponsorship of the 2016 Active Commute Week because we have already set a new record for enrollment with at least 30 local businesses and civic organizations registered. The event is from Monday, June 20, through Friday, June 24.

We’re encouraging all of our riders and social media followers to tune up your bikes, dust off your running/walking shoes or purchase your Rapid bus pass be a part of Active Commute Week. We are asking commuters of all ages, occupations and fitness levels to use active transportation to get around.

The Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition’s (GGRBC) Active Commute Week allows individual participants and teams to earn points for using active transportation, including bicycling, walking, riding The Rapid, carpooling, running, longboarding, or inline skating.
