What originally began as a mural on the interior of Stella’s Lounge, has blossomed into 3 high energy days of live art production over September 24-26th. Four local artists will be spending over 30 hours creating a site specific mural accompanied by art vendors, live dj and food specials from Stella’s. For visitors the interactive experience can be taken home by downloading the Free Chaotic Growth Iphone/ipod app. The “Chaotic Growth” Event will have daily hours beginning Friday at 5pm, starting on 10am Saturday and Sunday and running until midnight daily.

The main portion of the Chaotic Growth mural is located on the interior of Stella’s Lounge. The work was produced in April of 2010 right before the Grand Opening of the restaurant. The installation reflects both the growth of Grand Rapids and the playful chaos of an artist's mind, it includes giant organic structures and stylized deities that Erwin Erkfitz is known for as well as signature styles from Mitchell Hess, Cameron Murray and Jeremiah Johnson. The vibrant colors and comic styled imagery interact perfectly with the dark rock and roll restaurant atmosphere.

Stella’s Lounge is open daily to view the interior mural and to get a drink and a bite to eat. Download the Free Chaotic Growth iphone/ipod App online through the website

September 24, 25 & 26, 2010 the Chaotic Growth Mural Project will grow to the outdoors of Stella’s Lounge. Live mural painting coupled by DJ Spydre Murphy  and multiple arts vendors will take to the exterior for
