About NPO Showcase

NPO Showcase highlights nonprofit and government organizations that improve the quality of life in our city and throughout our community. The program is a feature of GRTV and the Community Media Center, with producer and host Julie Way. You can catch it on GRTV on Saturdays at 8 AM and 6 PM and can view past episodes on the Grand Rapids Community Media Center website. If your nonprofit would like to be interviewed on NPO Showcase, please contact Julie Way.

This segment of NPO Showcase features Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth, an organization that enables young people to reach their full potential through education, recreation, and other positive community experiences.

Casey Stratton, Performing Arts Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs, joins us in studio to talk about the Performing Arts program that the Clubs offer for students. The Clubs provide instruction for singing, instruments, and other performing arts as a way for students to express themselves creatively in a safe place during the afterschool hours.

The Rapidian, a program of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Community Media Center, relies on the community’s support to help cover the cost of training reporters and publishing content.
