For the next three weeks, if you're downtown during ArtPrize, you might see what appears to be a children's fort with a camera in front of it.

No, it's not an ArtPrize artist's installation- it's the Rapidian staff having fun with their Story Matters project- by building a fort for you to tell your story in!

With prompts ranging from telling us how you've seen Grand Rapids change over the years to retelling your favorite art experience, we'll be capturing all of the stories of our city in this pop-up events at SiTE:LAB, Propaganda Doughnuts, 616 Lofts on Ionia (upstairs from Grand Rapids Brewing Company) and Ah Nab Awen Park.

Along with appearing at ArtPrize venues, the story fort is also scheduled to be making a special appearance at Brewery Vivant's Third Annual Wood-Aged Beer Fest.

Stories captured in the story fort will then be turned into short videos that will be shared on The Rapidian and GRTV. You can tune in to your public access television on channel 25 to catch these stories of our city, or find all the latest stories by perusing the Story Matters page on The Rapidian, where all our Story Matters videos will be archived.

Don't know what to talk about? Never fear, we will have plenty of "prompt cards" for you to choose from, and a friendly face to listen to your story. It can take as little as a few minutes to tell your story, so be sure to check the schedule (at right) and plan to visit us while you are downtown in the upcoming weeks.
