In September, the Eastown Community Association (ECA) will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Eastown Street Fair. This event will occur in the heart of Eastown (along Wealthy Street) from 9:00am to 9:00pm on Saturday, September 16. According to the ECA's website, this event will be family friendly. However, the organizers of this event are asking that people refrain from bringing their pets along to the fair.

Attendees will be able to enjoy music, food, and alcoholic beverages (as long as they are adults of legal age). There will also be numerous vendor booths set up for people to browse, including one for WYCE.

At the WYCE booth, listeners will be able to interact with some of their favorite volunteer programmers and staff. There will also be various items available for purchase, including station merchandise and gently used vinyl. All proceeds will benefit WYCE and ensure that the station can continue to provide a "world of music." According to Station Manager Phil Tower:

"We look forward to the Eastown Streetfair every year because we love meeting our listeners and we love the vibe of the fair. As usual, we will have a terrific selection of gently used vinyl, LP's, CDs and limited edition WYCE station merchandise."

In preparation for the Eastown Streetfair, WYCE is currently accepting donations of gently used vinyl/LPs. Any genre of music is welcome. Donations may be dropped off at the Grand Rapids Community Media Center (711 Bridge St. NW) between 10:00am and 6:00pm. If you have a large number of albums that you want to donate but can't bring them yourself, WYCE can make arrangements for a pick up.

To arrange a pick up, please reach out to Scott Winters, WYCE's Operations & Traffic Manager by email at [email protected] or by phone at (616) 459-4788.
