You two are the only people I know who light real candles on the Christmas tree.

My mother-in-law always uses real candles, it reminds her of childhood in Germany, we continue on the tradition. It defines our Christmas experience, as you have to stop and sit and watch the tree when the candles are lit, it lends a quiteness and stillness to an otherwise chaotic season.

What is your trick for making sure the candle doesn't tip over? Are there special saucers? Do you use tea lights or candle sticks?
