Guest pianist Joyce Yang is soloist on Rachmaninoff's Variations on a Theme of Paganini, including the enchanting main theme of the film "Somewhere in Time," starring Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve, filmed on Mackinac Island. Guest conductor Perry So also conducts music by Dvorak, Smetana and Lutoslawski at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8, in DeVos Performance Hall. Tickets start at $18 adults, $5 students.
