BETTEN REAL PROPERTY, LLC PURCHASE OF HUDSONVILLE CANTILEVER
MFP Automation Engineering to lease the cantilevered edifice

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Betten Real Property, LLC of Grandville, MI, has entered into a real estate purchase agreement to acquire the building located at 4404 Central Parkway, Hudsonville, MI formerly owned by Erector LLC of Holland, MI. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The vacant iconic cantilevered office and warehouse building was once rented by Erector, LLC to bankrupt Lamar Construction Company.
Betten Real Property, LLC is owned by Roger Betten, Jr., President of the operating company that will be leasing the building, MFP Automation Engineering, Inc. of Grandville. Additional information on MFP Automation Engineering can be found at www.mifp.com.

MFP Automation Engineering, formerly known as Michigan Fluid Power, was founded in 1991 and has grown to become one of the Top 30 fluid power distributors in the United States, representing worldwide leaders in motion control and fluid power including Parker Hannifin, Lincoln Lubrication, Ace Controls, and Sun Hydraulics. MFP also specializes in customized hydraulic fluid power unit fabrication and manifold production.

The company has grown dramatically over the past 3 years to $40m in sales with 66 employees and has been challenged to continue to operate effectively in its current 20,000 square foot facility in Grandville. The company expects growth of 5-10% annually and continually seeks evolution in enhanced business solutions, and advanced product knowledge to support this growth.

“This is a very exciting time in the history and the future of MFP. We have grown tremendously as individuals and as a company and we look forward to continuing to expand our horizons into new markets and industries. This new facility will position MFP for the future. Our employees have been working in extremely overcrowded quarters for the past 2 years and we are very fortunate to have such a loyal and dedicated team behind our growth and success,” said Betten.

“We see this move as an opportunity to continue our expansion in West Michigan through job growth and facility enhancements. West Michigan is where it all started, and we want to continue to invest in the community that’s given MFP Automation Engineering so much support over the years. This is a natural move for us because West Michigan is what we all consider home,” said Betten.
