20th Century American Women’s Spirituality
Thursday, February 23, 7-8:30pm

With Fr. Bill Edens, CSP and special guest Sr. Diane Zerfas, OP

The experience of American women…their daily lives, their families, their friendships, and their prayer life, has been overlooked in the literature about theology and spirituality in American history.  Sr. Diane Zerfas, OP, from the Dominican Sisters at Marywood, will explore various sources and texts of American women and bring to light their spiritual reflections and often mystical experiences.   Both men and women can learn from this rich heritage of spiritual experiences.

History of Culture and Spirituality in the United States

This series will be live streamed at catholicinformationcenter.org

In this series, Fr. Bill Edens will explore unique American cultures and discuss how each group developed its special “flavor” of American Spirituality.  Guest speakers will share their cultural perspectives and will offer an opportunity to converse in a safe environment about the challenges of culture crossing, especially where there may be a history of prejudice.   We will also discuss opportunities for immersion into these cultures, which may be found in our very own homes and neighborhoods.   CFD: Evangelization ($10.00 donation suggested)

Event Type: Lectures
